Connor is a student that stays very active with soccer, ping pong, playing basketball with friends, downhill skiing, tubing and boating. He has two brothers, a twin named Bryce and an older brother named Jordan. Growing up with two brothers, Connor has learned how to compete in everything he does... Not to mention he loves band!
Connor was born missing his right forearm and hand. He has gotten very good at compensating by using his elbow and doesn’t need many adaptations for doing anything he wants to do. Band was a little different though, as he needs an instrument that he can play with his left hand while using his right elbow to support. He began playing trumpet in the 6th grade with a student instrument modified by Ken at Meyer Music in Grand Rapids, MI. Through middle school, this trumpet was great for Connor and served all his needs well. In high school, Connor wanted to continue with the trumpet for marching band and also concert band which meant he needed to upgrade instruments. He loves playing and has goals to perform in the Rockford High School Wind Ensemble some day.
Connor and his family came to the Bach plant in Elkhart, Indiana, to get fitted for a custom Bach trumpet. The family took a tour of the plant to meet the Bach Artisans that handcrafted his 180S37 Stradivarius trumpet. The look on Connor's face when he is first introduced to the trumpet says it all as he took it for a test drive in the WAVE (Wenger Acoustic Virtual Environment) Room where hundreds of renowned musicians play tested instruments when they visited. Connor absolutely loves his new trumpet that was custom made just for him in Elkhart. We want to thank Connor and his family for taking the time to visit us at the factory and will be rooting for Connor to perform with the Rockford High School Wind Ensemble!
Note: When Connor and his family visited the plant the trumpet did not have the silver plating in place yet.
